It’s Time to Fly
by Terence Ang
There was a time when I couldn’t even speak the words in my heart. When my body felt like a cage and my thoughts were locked inside. After my stroke, I had to learn how to walk again, talk again, live again. I wasn’t just healing—I was rebuilding.
Every step forward was a struggle. Every stumble felt like a setback. But somehow, I kept going. Not because I was fearless—but because something inside me refused to quit.
And now, after all the falls and the fights, I feel something shift. A quiet strength has replaced the fear. A deep calm lives where chaos once was. The boy inside me—the one who once felt broken—has grown.
Now I’m not just walking.
I’m not just surviving.
It’s time to fly.
Flying doesn’t mean you’ve forgotten the pain. It means you’ve transformed it into power. Into purpose. It means you’ve accepted the scars as part of your wings.
To anyone who feels stuck, grounded, or afraid—this is your moment too. Your pain doesn’t define you. Your courage does.
Don’t wait until you feel ready. You’ll never feel ready. Just decide: it’s time to fly.
