 It’s the Little Things, Always

You know you’ve had “one of those days” when your selfie comes with a sling.

Here I am, smiling in the A&E department — not exactly the most glamorous of settings, but sometimes life throws you a plot twist... or maybe a slippery floor. (No spoilers, but the floor won that round.)

Yes, my arm’s in a bandage.

Yes, the nurse said, “You again?” with just the right amount of concern and amusement.

And yes, I still smiled. Not because it didn’t hurt — but because I’ve learned something important:

It’s the little things. Always.

The little things get us through the hard days.

Like a warm smile from a nurse.

A friend who texts, “Are you okay?” (even if they also say, “You klutz!”).

The fact that hospital gowns now come in less embarrassing sizes (small victories matter).

Or just knowing — despite the chaos — you’re still standing… well, maybe sitting… but still here.

Recovery teaches you that strength isn’t always loud.

 Sometimes, it’s quiet.

Sometimes, it’s in your ability to laugh even when your arm is in a sling.

Sometimes, it’s in choosing joy — not because everything’s perfect, but because you are present.

So yes, I’m in a wheelchair.

Yes, I look like I lost a fight with gravity (again).

But you know what? I won something more important — perspective.

Next time you feel overwhelmed, just pause and look for the small wins.

 A smile. A joke. A breath.

They count more than you know.

Because in the end, it’s the little things, always.
